Sindh Government Releases Exam and Holiday Schedule for Matric and Intermediate Students

The Sindh Education Department has finalized its plans for the upcoming academic year, bringing clarity to the examination and vacation schedules for students and parents. The decisions were made during the department’s steering committee meeting, ensuring a well-structured roadmap for 2025.

Exam Dates Finalized

Matriculation exams for grades 9 and 10 are set to begin on March 15, 2025, providing ample preparation time for students. Meanwhile, intermediate exams for grades 11 and 12 will commence a month later, starting April 15, 2025.

To ensure timely academic progression, the committee has decided to announce matric exam results by July 15, 2025, while intermediate results will follow on August 15, 2025.

Academic Year Kickoff

The new academic year for schools is scheduled to begin on April 1, 2025, adhering to the traditional timeline. Colleges will start their academic session slightly later, on August 1, 2025, aligning with the completion of the intermediate examination cycle.

Vacation Plans Unchanged

The much-anticipated summer break will remain unchanged, spanning from June 1 to July 31, 2025. Winter vacations will also follow the usual pattern, taking place from December 22 to December 31, 2024, giving students a short yet refreshing break.

Public Holidays in 2025

The steering committee also highlighted key public holidays for the upcoming year, including:

  • Shab-e-Miraj (January 28)
  • Kashmir Day (February 5)
  • Eid-ul-Fitr (March 31–April 3)
  • Ashura (July 5–6)
  • Independence Day (August 14)

This comprehensive schedule reflects a balanced approach, offering clarity and consistency for both students and educators.
