CM Punjab Vows Unwavering Support for Farmers’ Prosperity

LAHORE, Dec 18: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif reaffirmed her commitment to prioritizing farmers’ welfare, declaring that no effort would be spared in improving their lives and advancing the agricultural sector.

In her message on National Farmers’ Day, the Chief Minister expressed profound gratitude to the hardworking farmers who tirelessly cultivate the land to meet the nation’s food requirements. She emphasized that their dedication forms the backbone of Pakistan’s economy and food security.

The Punjab government, she stated, is rolling out initiatives to modernize agriculture and enhance farmers’ livelihoods. “Kissan Cards have empowered farmers, enabling them to purchase fertilizers, seeds, and other essential inputs worth billions of rupees,” she said.

Maryam Nawaz highlighted the introduction of interest-free green tractor schemes and productive loans as measures to promote agricultural mechanization and ease farmers’ burdens. Furthermore, she noted significant progress on the solarization of agricultural tube wells, which aims to reduce energy costs and improve efficiency.

The Chief Minister also shed light on the innovative Livestock Card program, which provides livestock farmers with access to vaccines, fodder, and veterinary care. This initiative, she said, is designed to elevate both agriculture and livestock farming, thus boosting rural economic growth.

The Punjab government remains steadfast in its mission to uplift the farming community, ensuring their prosperity and contributing to the broader economic development of the region.
